back in the day johnny rockets used to do a killer thickshake... but now its changed into a soda rock or something...

i have a craving for a milkshake with smashed maltesers.

ladyinred  said about 5 years ago:

freaks i'm not passionate about the maltesers in a milk shake. i think it's just the whole malt taste i'm not enthused about actually.

NEW ZEALAND ICECREAM.

The most AMAZING chocolate milkshake. Tastes like liquid Cadbury's (but with more milk).

Coming in a close second is the Aussie Lamington from Donut King: vanilla/coconut milkshake with smashed up Bounty and choc sauce.

drool

freaksandgeeks  said about 5 years ago:

a crunchie quake shake is quite nice but very fattening of course

i haven't had a milkshake for ages... i want a milkshake. anyone know where i can get one at about 9:30pm?

j_beats  said about 5 years ago:

hudson at 530 lt.collins st does rad chocolate milkshakes... shit coffee... but rad fuckin milkshakes

PaulsGrandfather  said about 5 years ago:

I like the thickshakes you get from New Zealand natural. The ones they make out of the really low fat chocolate soft serve. They're really thick and tasty but not sickly sweet.

spaceman1  said about 5 years ago:

at last, a thread thats worth reading.

when i'm feelin' blue, a big milkshake always manages to cheer me up.

come on, surely we can come up with more than 2 places?? myer used to make really good ones years ago. now not as good, so i just get them from wherever. but wherever's not good enough.

famous amos in melbourne central makes divine ice chocoloates, for what its worth.

PaulsGrandfather  said about 5 years ago:

Myer? For serious?

JunkiePhil  said about 5 years ago:

You can get a few on Lygon st.
I had a tirimasu one 2 weeks ago that kicked ass.
Some Ice Cream store that was part of a chain.
$5;50 , but well worth it.
There are about 6 Ice cream places along that st. that all sell milk shakes / thick'o's

j_beats  said about 5 years ago:

for shiz my niz?

j_beats  said about 5 years ago:

hudson was 5.80 i think. for the biggest one. one mofo of a shake

the old lady italian milk bar cafe across the road from Dench in Scotchmere st make great milkshakes in the big metal cups
As of last week, this still applies. ''Corner Store'' - corner of Scotchmer and Egremont St's

that sounds fucking good. lots of ice cream?

puretokyo  said about 2 years ago:

urgently need a good choccie milkshake recommendation. any cbd ideas?

as of my most recent visit, these were just like all the crappy milkshakes around -- made using fake chocolate syrup.

a proper choccie milkshake should be made using chocolate ice cream

mathieson  said about 2 years ago:

My longstanding pet hate is people who think it's a good idea to put ice cubes into a finished milkshake.

Yarraville-wise both Feedback and Hausfrau do solid milkshakes - in the can, with ice cream, decent thickness up top.

puretokyo  said about 2 years ago:

that sounds like solid information thanks mathieson, i shall investigate

mathieson  said about 2 years ago:

The cafe right next to the Sun Cinema do the whole extra ice cream, extra flavour, extra malt thing, so of you're so inclined, and willing to pay, you can get a serious thickshake.

believe it or not, but pie face milkshakes are pretty good. not vegan, but maybe you could ask for soy.

I think Yong Green Food has vegan milkshakes, but that's on Brunswick Street.

this thread inspired me to put 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream, 3 choc chip cookies and a cup of milk in a blender.

success.

Reeces Pieces Thickshake from Mistys (High St Prahran) is the best I've had.

You can get vegan milkshakes at The Red Triangle. Actually there is a crazy range there.

rushmore_beekeeper  said about 7 months ago:

Got myself a vanilla soy milkshake from The Red Triangle yesterday made with So Good Vanilla Soy Ice cream and Vitasoy soy milk plus vanilla syrup. So yummy. The peeps there seem to know what they are doing with lactose intolerant and/or vegan issues (apparently the Chai soy milkshake is a no go for vegans) and there is a huge range including deluxe variety for those with no special requirements. You can have them in an icy glass in the lounge area or as a take away. Definitely worth the climb.

hungryhungryhippo  said about 7 months ago:

Pancake Parlour Swiss Malt Shake is right up there in my book.

rushmore_beekeeper  said about 7 months ago:

Red Triangle also have the malt option but I have to avoid wheat and dairy so I can't have it.
