This is my favourite corner of M&N where I can bask in beatles glory... greatest band ever!

So has anyone read the new mojo which is a 101 greatest beatles songs issue?? I picked it up yesterday but haven't read it yet..

that's sgt pepper. lennon tripping out on the roof.
when you see the roof at abbey road, it's a wonder he didn't fall.

i liked the macca interview. there was less false modesty than usual. i want a ringo interview.

Ohh i shall have to pick this up!! me lub dem beatles!

hillsonghoods  said about 5 years ago:

The Mark Spitz book is awesome. So incredibly indepth. I thought I knew everything about the Beatles, but I was proved wrong by that book.

twisterella  said about 5 years ago:

Macca is your favourite Beatles? Geez!!

Walrus can I borrow your copy? Too cheap to buy it myself, but I'd like to have a read.

angelic_layer  said about 5 years ago:

oh is it..?? I must be getting old..I thought I remembered there was the story of Lennon sneaking off during rubber soul sessions or was it revolver? and smoking weed on the studio roof with someone..I can't remember..maybe Ringo? or George..anyway a couple were straight, a couple were bent..that kind of thing...and having to front up to Sir George whacked out and all..and getting in trouble kind of..anyway I think I'm confused..

iamthewalrus  said about 5 years ago:

yes, you may.

ClevelandRocks  said about 5 years ago:

My book - ticket to ride, is a very in depth l;ook at the 64 tour of the states, journo , Larry Kane is the authour who is befriended by the beatles quite a lot. you hear all the stories about Mal Evans, Derek, Brian all the goings on of a beatles tour plus a CD with vintage interviews with the beatles. Definitely worth picling up if your a big fan

Temet  said about 5 years ago:

So what was #1 song in Mojo?

hillsonghoods  said about 5 years ago:

My favourite's John with a bit of a soft spot for George.

ClevelandRocks  said about 5 years ago:

My Fave is ringo of course, mainly because of the way he looks , like really , is there anyone else on the whole plannet that looks remotely like him. and also cos he is a kick ass drummer.

I'm really enjoying the latest Mono etc versions released, but what I really wanna know is, is there a version with just the vocals, in the vein of all them Pet Sounds Reissues?

My favourite parts are the harmonies, particularly the call-and-response. George has the best BVs in the Biz, man.

Love The Beatles

That is all...

Lozenge  said about 2 months ago:

Sadly there is no vocal only releases of The Beatles catalogue ...although some Revolver and Pepper bootlegs floating around have vocal only tracks on em' - but only a few on each - not every track.

bigdaddykane  said about 2 months ago:

Where they at? In the messandnoise gmail account as of this very moment? Hmmmm?

Lozenge  said about 2 months ago:

haha.... I'll put 'em in the gmail but can't do it today - will PM ya next week when I have!

Lozenge  said about 2 months ago:

But a fun tip though...

YouTube is a goldmine for Beatles outtakes, bootlegs, studio odds n' ends - I can spend hours on there listening to stuff.

Thanks Lozzey!

crimpies  said about 2 months ago:

Because (the song) vocals only version on Anthology 3.

i used to have three tracks from ''sgt peppers'' on wav files that were all separated that i could drop in and drop out to hear the four parts for - it was bloody tops.

all lost in the great external hdd death of 09.

With the beatles

Help! is too underrated for my liking in this world.

bigdaddykane  said about 2 months ago:

Revolution In The Head has re-sparked me love of em. Damned if I know what half of it means though. WTF is a glissando?!?! It's ok, I looked it up.

Oscarwilde  said about 2 months ago:

I love the 'big cut' John called for on strawberry fields.
