Here's a pic I took at their famous Astoria gig - where the set list was decided by requests made by fans, and the show ran 2 Hrs 40'
No fans left then?
How quickly bands are forgotten....
any chance youve got a link for the Channel 4 show?
sigh BRMC..
Really honestly can't get enough of HOWL
Haven't got HOWL yet.
Loved their 1st album
howl's a lot slower than their other stuff.
i want them to tour heeeeerrrreeeee!! wahahhh!!
anyone got any news?
They've got Mercy from the Howl Sessions on their MySpace.
And the torrent from the C4 show is now available. Braodcast was all Howl material, except for Love Burns and Punk Song...
i played heart and soul in my set tonight cos i needed to take a shit. not that i ended up needing 7 minutes, but y'know, great song anywayz.

Ummm...
That's a pic of the Reid brothers in JaMC
boom boom!
Don't forget the BRMC pic here then
With Howl they moved a long way away from the East Kilbride sound
Thanks HEB. Yesterday I was torn between a BRMC cd or a Wolfmother cd. (Seeing as my local record store stocked none of the good Norwegian selections I was after.) I purchased the Wolfmother disk, but will re check BRMC.
I prefer Howl to their earlier albums - more varied and a richer sound
doitvikinggod
one of the best gigs i've been to
I love Howl, but i think the self titled album is lush, greeat lovey dovey music.
oh, yeah, i don't have one of those torrent accounts, is there anyway else of obtaining that?
The BRMC Forums were discussing hosting it...
Also keep an eye on YouTube
they had it on yousendit but it expired, poopoo
i like all 3 of their album. they're all fairly different from each other.
they were awesome at livid in 2004.

New drummer would better suit a glam/stomp band than BRMC
Fine on the newer material, but definitely shows shortcoming on the Howl-era material
i miss Howl-era
Would be a dream support dude. What Hyperfuzz said, second LP is killer. Dirty and angry as hell! Bass is killer, probably their best lyrics and they shrugged off the 'rock is back' bull shit they were dragged into with The Vines, Strokes, The Hives etc.....
With this new info who should support these gigs? I bags sound like sunset in Melba and the laurels in syd. Sydney is now sold out apparently, I'm looking to go see the melb sat show. Praying for cheap flights.
Yeah, Three Month Sunset would be swell.
I have a ticket for sale (or to swap for the earlier show) for the Saturday July 31st gig in Melbourne. PM me if interested.
What happened to the Black Ryder?
Is anyone going to any of the NZ shows? I'm thinking of heading to the Auckland show.... Anyone from Melbourne feel like coming along for the ride?
SO IF ANYONE HAS A TICKET FOR THE METRO SHOW IN SYDNEY FOR MOI I'D LOVE YOU LONG TIME. AND REIMBURSE YOU APPROPRIATELY.
does anyone know what time they're on tonight? billboard site says 8pm-10pm...surely it won't be on that early on a saturday night....
yep. doors are at 6:30.
weird. thanks
went to the thursday show, thought it was good but not great. i enjoyed the last tour more.
Last night's show was stellar! Best I've ever seen them (and I've seen them about ten times.) Good sound, incredible versions of 'six barrel shotgun' and 'the line'. The new drummer is ace (though I could have sworn I was watching TransientRandom pounding the skins). I'm pretty sure that at least half the girls in the audience were thinking about fucking Peter Hayes during 'Berlin'. My personal (and unexpected) highlights were 'rifles' and 'shade of blue'. Would have liked them to play 'white palms' and 'stop' but I'm not complaining.
The lowlight (which turned out to be a highlight based purely on the sheer hilarity of it) was the silly goth wench in the corset who did nothing but take photos of herself making a duckface, her chubby friend and her shortarse boyfriend FOR THE ENTIRE DURATION OF THE SHOW. No exaggeration. She had her back to the stage for the most part, but when she didn't Scrumpy and I and some random dudes next to us bombed a bunch of her photos with obscene gestures and unflattering facial expressions. Seriously, why the fuck would you pay to see a band and spend their entire set photographing yourself?! Anyway, it was a fucking kick-arse show. Yep. Good times.
i really like that approach and will try it in the future. thankyou judydickslap for showing me that leaving the venue in disgust is not the only way to deal with vanity flashers
Be fucked if dickheads are going to ruin my fun!
I thought Robert was amazing. had a great time, but the set I got wasn't really my bag.
I did like Stop and a few others, but I really wanted Beat The Devil material and only got one or two tracks.
Kinda weird way to tour an album.
but yeah, Robert is all I hoped he would be from loving his style and sound for a while.
I know, right? So fucking good.
Aw, we didn't get 'Stop' on Saturday! More new stuff would have been ace. I could have easily watched them for another hour. They should have played 'Beat the Devil' in its entirety.
Very sad news that Michael Been (aka Papa Been), Robert's dad and BRMC sound engineer has passed away.
After suffering a stroke backstage at the Pukkelpop show he was rushed to hospital where he unfortunately didn't make it.
Love and peace to his family and the band.
Vale Papa Been.
It seems like every second ad I see here has a BRMC soundtrack. Hmmm.
