Tsk, 3rd thread for them...I would expect this from a Newbie, but you, HEB?!?
Look - it's all properly hyperlinked and everything.
Anyway, this is The Official * thread
;-p
* whatever that means
with every new thread i grow sookier...
So the two BIG questions are:
1. How many nights will they play? There are 8 days between the London and Manchester shows
2. Will they do warm-up shows?* There are a few ATP events they could play unannounced, just to make sure their official return is 'just so'...
i am goddamn green with envy. i hope they make it down here soon.
waits for MBV to be added to the Explosions ATP which he can actually go to
i am so going to this.
starts saving
fuck, i just got a friend in london onto this and agreed to go to london if she sorts tix tomorrow morning.
It's a cruel, cruel summer to be saving your pennies nicko - good luck with that...a very worthy cause, though
fucking hell... maybe we should all fucking move to England.
well - i still don't believe this thread even exists. I'll come back in a minute and see if it's still here...then it's straight to the travel agent..
so what do you reckon kids?..a grey-power M&N road trip?
What a difference 10 weeks makes...
maybe ATP haven't told them yet, and are just hoping they can convince them sometime in the next 7 months.
11 hours till we can get our Manchester tickets...
hmmmm i could be in europe around then...
you bloody brits get all the good bands :(
this is about when i was planning on going to england...
on sale at 8pm tonight (aedst).

my god. their ATP lineup. good fucking LORD.
LANEWAY.
saw both manchester apollo shows on the barrier directly in front of kevin, my god the apollo is an incredible venue, glad i saw them there over the roundhouse, was busy with gang of four at royalfestivalhall at the time anyway, which was actually almost as ridiculously awesome  within 2-3 songs mbv was so ridiculously loud, whitehouse, sun0))), mogwai, dino jr... all left for dead... my hair and shirt were flapping at times, some manchester review said it clocked on avg over 130db. they seemed very happy too, even moreso the second night, every damn song sounded better than record, except for only shallow's chorus bits which really didn't work.. any video or recordings are lucky to capture 1/10th of the awesome.
spectrum were great both nights, was reppin' a smelly spacemen 3 shirt which sonic dug at one point, good set but it was the same and mostly their various covers, (was a bit of a trip going home to flick on bbc and watching spiritualized ruling glastonbury in contrast, and then the verve on top of that). second night was a bit odd, the ymmr noise part went back to being stupid, it so wouldn't be hard to make it into a noise piece that was actually interesting.. the first night i didnt take my eyes off shields face and he had his eyes closed for the entire 20+ minutes, except for one moment towards the end when he opened them slightly to check on the crowd with his eyes rolling into the back of his head.. probably never forget that look, it was absolutely demonic.. i just remember thinking, wow you are one fucking glorious asshole... first night my ears came out a-okay, although i was generally nauseous/disorientated, but the second time they were ringing and i couldnt hear shit for 3-4 days...
Wow!
this thread has inspired me to relisten to loveless.
hope the reissue is goodly. i've never heard the vinyl of the original, but apparently it's the bomb shiz.
if my facts are right i think it wasn't originally issued on vinyl - it was mastered with CD in m ind...
haha - The Loveless Format Wars...a friend of mine who worked at Waterfront once gave me a birthday present of an actual Creation release of Loveless on MiniDisc...i've had it over 10 years and still haven't heard it...so coming as a gift from a girl I guess you could say 'one lady owner, low klms.. etc etc. anybody got a MiniDisc player? ;)
anyone else got Ecstacy & Wine on vinyl? or is that just me...?
so are they re-releasing everyfink or just loveless?
i have it, columbo. can't listen to it though.
i also have a minidisc player/recorder, but let's never speak of it again.
video interview with Kevin & Colm on NME website
christ, i hope not... what a shitful clusterfuck that was last year for actually enjoying music.
if this ends up being the case, i'll simply watch from some rooftop bar with binoculars.
cause you'll hear 'em all over the city.
does anyone know how their Fuji Rock set went? still shattered they didnt come down here afterwards
The Benicassim Show was the best 'live' rock show I have ever witnessed.... bar none. My girlfriend who is not a MBV fiend as much as moi made references to it as it being borderline transcendental and I must agreee...
I managed to catch 25 mins of Spiritualized in one of the tents just prior and I was a little disappointed (being a Perthite this was a first for me seeing Mr Spaceman and co). Twas a mess of untamed noise which is all very kewl but it just lacked....something.
I have some digicam mpgs which i'll assess....I know I got the first 1:30 mins of the holocaust sequence
I'll check the quality first and youtube it. I thought the camera might fall apart in spots it was that overwhelming. I'll post up some pics when I get the chance coz I know I have some nifty ones.
Phhh I'm jetlagged as f*ck.
i've got two MD recorders around here. i refuse to feel bad about it.
maybe MBV and Swervedriver could double up and tour Oz.
live at fuji rock amazing

did the remastered CDs get leaked onto Waffles?
excellent vid.
Just got my hands on 7 of their EP's. Having only heard their 2 full length albums before this stuff was amazing to finally hear.
