seeing that Death Proof flick made me think of past movies where Tarantino and Rodriguez worked together, which made me think of smutty Mexican strippers / vampires, which made me wonder... Has there ever been an Australian vampire movie? Outback Blood Suckers! Wollongong Night Terror! anyone?
I think Badalex made one, didn't he?
not quite vampires, but......Houseboat Horror?
How come ''Turkey Shoot'' isn't on the list?
Because it's so horrible that you want to block it out of your memory for eternity.
c'mon! sexy ans sassy city kids go on a cross country road trip, gets harassed by red neck country folk, night falls and they turn the tables as their secret vampire powers come to the fore. brilliant! hard to get vampires afraid of the sun to go out into the outback though.
did the Sleepy Jackson tune ''Vampire Racecourse'' actually have anything to do with vampires?
Outback vampires
thirst
GOLD!!!
Ha ha I have to see Outback Vampires (aka Prince at the Court of Yarralumla).
It was shot in Yarralumla where I grew up. I'm imagining a film where a wave of yuppie vampires invade the sleepy neighbourhood of Yarralumla. They beseige the house of the Governor General who uses the special powers invested in him by the Queen to defeat their evil tyranny.
the artist for the 30 Days Of Night comic was an Aussie. dunno how he got the snow so good. must have used lots of reference photos
there've been some low-budget Aussie horror films...that zombie short with Dead Inside the Chrysalis was shit. maybe i'll put some vampires in my film
vampires are sexy. hang around in the dark. hopefully seducing their prey before chomping down on them. got much more class than your zombies and werewolves.
''Blood Spit'' was supposed to be the follow up to Leon Fish and Duke Hendrix's Killbillies but I dunno if they ever finished it.
Australia is too bright. You worship the nuclear ungod Sol!
An Australain Vampire in London on youtube 9.5 minutes.
pretty poor
one being made right now... Ethan Hawke, Willem Defoe, Claudia Karvan

What d'ya know, I just found out my brother actually worked on Outback Vampires.
I didnt mention to you that one of my first gigs as a cameraman was shooting this turkey back in 87' . I was young foolish and still a virgin at the time but had some close calls on set!! The director was a maniac but I was partiularly helpful with my local knowledge which helpd me to become a useful location scout. The brickworks was a must and it was well utilised at the time. We had to be careful though because we were filming at night in secret.
As I recal there were no injuries on set although there were swooping magpies in the area. There was one humurous episode one night when we were filming in the upper reaches of the embassy area and we had a scene that showed a young afluent couple being devoured.
i don't get it.
