Could you narrow it down a bit?

I need to know what regions to AVOID!!!!!!!!

postergirl  said about 1 year ago:

I've often fantasised about moving to the country. I'll do it one day, when everything I need to do has been done.

empra  said about 1 year ago:

Avoid all regions that I don't frequent.

Here:

Wonky  said about 1 year ago:

Hey! No hard rubbish night either, you can have a perma-fire!

email  said about 9 months ago:

Wow! That's a very classy little cuntry area you have there!

Hmmm... Bugger. What's the fun of the country without illegal fires???

fastcanoe  said about 9 months ago:

I don't need no hard rubbish. Enough of my own junk will be visiting the coles carpark before I leave.

There will be fires eventually, I just need to find the right area/demographic.

sister  said about 9 months ago:

it snows in winter in woodend.

fastcanoe  said about 9 months ago:

Grand, days off work here I come!

I haven't had snow in years, may have to invest in some chains for the car seeing as I'll be skating to work at 5am.

fastcanoe  said about 9 months ago:

Woodend last July! Fuck yes!

email  said about 9 months ago:

Apparently it snowed here in November '06, but I don't think that's a regular occurence... And not enough to get out of work or anything.

This was 1984 though:

email  said about 9 months ago:

pwetty

fastcanoe  said about 9 months ago:

Stunner. I have a few friends that went to UNE and don't recall any consistent snow stories.

email  said about 9 months ago:

I think that was the last major lot of snow... It's just damn damn cold.

fastcanoe  said about 9 months ago:

Yah, I've been there in the dead of winter chasing down a veitnam vet for some story about rice with his son, twas fucking freezing and bleak. Only worthy aspect was a few side trips to satellite towns chasing second hand book glory and cosy fires.

svelteslacks  said about 9 months ago:

could i please please please come visit and see snow?

i've never ever seen snow.

fastcanoe  said about 9 months ago:

No, no visitors. Your welcome to meet me at the pub though and see the snow on the main street. Plus there be a train line which was ploughing through the stuff last year from what I'm reading, that would be a nice day trip.

svelteslacks  said about 9 months ago:

awwww.

ok then. i'll meet you at the pub.

how are we going to jam now?

kandos  said about 9 months ago:

fuckin bumpkins.

fastcanoe  said about 9 months ago:

It will probably all be put off for a while I'm afraid :[ Maybe round Easter time I'll look into space down here for jam action. Still really want to do as much, just not right now is all.

That said, I haven't actually got the place yet, so I may end up stuck here for a while to come. Scoring affordable housing out there is not that easy.

But the pub is ace. As I said, microbrewery, yummy beers.

fastcanoe  said about 9 months ago:

I'm still debating this place as well you see

It is exactly what I want and an area I adore... but a lot to pay by ones self.

svelteslacks  said about 9 months ago:

i think it's an excellent move mister. i wish i could do it myself.

fastcanoe  said about 9 months ago:

It be what I need, thats for sure.

theneworphan  said about 9 months ago:

I grew up in Woodend, and I can attest to its greatness. I do plan to move back there when I'm ready to settle down.. but that's not going to be anytime soon.

It snows on average once a year, and if it doesn't settle in town you can always drive up Mt Macedon, where there is also great mountain biking tracks amongst other general niceness...

Good place, fond memories.
