Songs that have made you cry

thisispants  said about 4 years ago  or at  6:07PM on Tuesday, October 30 2007 in music

...well....I'm not trying to be tough...but a song has never made me cry. I did have had a lump in the throat once....but I'm pretty sure that was just a burp (a damn sad burp though).

The closest I've come was hearing the Blur song 'No distance left to run' after breaking up with my girlfriend.

I found it damn embarrassing!...and it was just me in my room.

Any stupid songs you find sad for some reason?

Feel free to ignor this post, I'm waiting for an email and wasting time!

pretty much all of Van Morrison's Astral Weeks album

the Eels and Casiotone for the Painfully Alone are pretty weepy too

Augie March live shows

Only song that's ever made me cry is Paragon Cafe, at the Basement this year.

Although I've gotta agree with Chris - Slim Slow Slider gets me very melancholic.

In My Life - the Beatles

everytime I hear it pretty much

thisispants  said about 4 years ago:

I cry constantly during Augie March live shows....

mainly because they suck live. I find it really sad that a band who can write such good songs are so tragically rubbish live.

thisispants  said about 4 years ago:

Old Shep by Elvis Presley Every god damned time!!!

MissAustralia2003  said about 1 year ago:

oh texaco........

When I was a lad
And old Shep was a pup
Over hills and meadows we'd stray
Just a boy and his dog
We were both full of fun
We grew up together that way

I remember the time at the old swimmin' hole
When I would have drowned beyond doubt
But old Shep was right there
To the rescue he came
He jumped in and then pulled me out

As the years fast did roll
Old Shep he grew old
His eyes were fast growing dim
And one day the doctor looked at me and said
I can do no more for him Jim

With hands that were trembling
I picked up my gun
And aimed it at Shep's faithful head
I just couldn't do it
I wanted to run
I wish they would shoot me instead

He came to my side
And looked up at me
And laid his old head on my knee
I had struck the best friend that a man ever had
I cried so I scarcely could see

Old Shep he has gone
Where the good doggies go
And no more with old Shep will I roam
But if dogs have a heaven
There's one thing I know
Old Shep has a wonderful home

Elvis is Dead by Living Colour.

MissAustralia2003  said about 1 year ago:

but really elvis was a bit dumb - he should have taken shep to the vet not a doctor, no wonder the doctor said he can do no more for shep, he needed a vet

Texaco  said about 1 year ago:

Maybe the vet was busy?

Damn you, that last verse!!!!

Morris Iemma  said about 1 year ago:

So... who's going to break the bad news to him?

Texaco  said about 1 year ago:

Neither you nor me Morris. In a cruel twist of fate, Elvis has left the building too.

MissAustralia2003  said about 1 year ago:

look, shep may be buried underneath ye old oak tree, but we ALL KNOW SHEP IS HAPPY IN A MUCH BETTER PLACE AND IS GRATEFUL TO ELVIS FOR SHOOTING HIM. OK?

And it appears elvis shot shep when ''I cried so I scarcely could see'' - does this mean he may have missed? And if so, did shep die a slow painful upset death and was cognisant that elvis shot him?
