This groups has been on my to get list for sometime- give me ya 2 cents. From what I have heard they are on the furthermost fringe of Hip-hop. I think I'd dig 'em.
Are you Goodbye_Beret?
err... noo....
hah
I thought this was place was about the music?
cLOUDDEAD are alright.
Subtle are awesome too.
Anyone got the original ''Them'' LP? That 's Dose-tastic!
The self-titled cLOUDDEAD LP is killer also.
best thing cLOUDDEAD did was Cold House
I have the Subtle CD that came out last year- was orright. The consensus seems that the first cLOUDDEAD was better than the 2nd- true?
Anyone got the original ''Them'' LP? That 's Dose-tastic!
I only ever got Themselves.
Haven't listened to any of that weird Anticon type stuff for years. Forgot it even existed until now.
cLOUDEAD is the reason why all nerds must be issued with 4-tracks immeadiatly.
'Edison i fixed my glasses like new.' Dosetatstic all-right
I have been listening to the self-titled LP heaps over the past few weeks. Loving it!
loved the first one. everything else they've done shits me (aside from cold house).
''It doesn't look like an ice sculpture..... OR DOES IT???!?!??''
Dosenerds will know what I mean. heh
That's the problem with the Them LP -- makes everything else look shite (except for the ST LP), but is pretty much unavailable, I think. I don't have a copy myself, I just remember how I treasured it and clasped it to my heaving bosom. Until I lent it to some clown.
Anyone know where to get a burn of it?
Adam- I thought it said; doesn't look like a 'nice sculpture'?.
I've got Greenthink's blindfold (what they were before clouddead) which is nice, but more sketches and less songs. cLOUDDEAD is also good. as is Ten, as is Cold House.
i find boards of canada boring however.
i wouldn't say cLOUDDEAD were right on the fringe - check Food For Animals - myspace.com/thefoodforanimals and Soul-Junk for noise-hop http://soundsareactive.com/catalogue/mp3/Soul-Junk-Autosmuddling.mp3
Yeah heard of FFA- want them. Also want me some Dälek. So many CDs, so little money.
i like most things that yoni wolf (why?) is involved in..
What the crunk is 'Cold House'? Been a googling and I get is the album by Hood.
physics of a bicycle, isn't it remarkable?
tramdriver, the hood album is the 'cold house' that wax+wire is referring to. the members of cLOUDDEAD (why? and dose one) both appear on that album.
cLOUDDEAD S/T rules.
I never, ever get sick of listening to it. Ever.
Yes, it rules! Derivatives thereof, not so much.
I can count 40 fat women in spandex...power walking circles around me...etc
Jimmy Breeze (Part 2) is absolutely fucking brilliant.
it seems i'm only me in sleep, where we meet in dream at the concrete bottom of the brodie garage bridge you just jumped from. who would have ever thought art school could be so sickening, wearing the werewolf mask, you tuck your shirt in, you said ''it's nice to look like you just stepped out of a movie,'' and sure you look cinematic, silhouette on the edge of the roof of a car park under the orange sunset sky, with any empty sketch pad and a werewolf mask. we always meet too late, after you done did it, put cracks in concrete fiftt feet from where i first saw you stand. a pack of little birds peck at your flesh and your monster mask, as i reach to touch your shoes to track the trail of where you've been.
the ram's crumpled horn, an empty turle shell. sunset is an all day process, sunset is an all day process.
we seem to be sinking deeper into a vat of honey glaze, shall we live? or shall we laminate ourselves into a standard appetizing position? at school this quarter, all the supply lists call for reynold's wrap and contact paper, report covers and lacquer. am i here to something, something, or start a dead butterfly collection?
william howard taft is appalled that as an artist i wouldn't want to overindulge in a set of highly toxic and rare natural pigments or beautiful paper to waste the rainforests with. but friends, we've no longer a need for glitty masters who paint gold-leaf babies in the backs of the cathedrals. and that's a fact, jack.
I was listening to This About the City b/w The Sound of a Handshake this morning. I still think it's the best thing they ever did, possibly because it was the very first thing I heard of theirs. I remember the first time I heard cLOUDDEAD I was so blown away as I had never heard anything that sounded anything like it before.
