The Soundtrack of Our Lives

richieramone  said about 2 years ago  or at  6:32PM on Monday, July 31 2006.

This incredible band outta Gothenburg, Sweden have never made it to these shores, but tonight you can get that much needed fix of seeing them live by heading down to the Tote for tonight's Barlight Cinema. 7:30pm start on the big screen and it's free entry.

Featuring the 2002 Hultsfred Festival, which is kinda like our very own Meredith Music Festival, plus a TV special and video clips.

As an added bonus, we'll even be screening some incredibly rare footage of Union Carbide Productions (pre-Soundtrack of Our Lives) live, including their 1991 Roskilde performance, with great audio and visuals, and other early performance plus their 2003 reformation show at Hultsfred.

iamthewalrus  said about 2 years ago:

damn. is it possible to see this in sydney?

i'm on a traaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaain to a confrontation camp.

Ubu  said about 2 years ago:

Good stuff! I'm in the footage of the '91 Roskilde festival, great gig!

juicenewton*  said about 2 years ago:

Woooo, can't go, but sounds aceness. A mate of mine was at that Union Carbide reformation show, the first day he rocked into Sweden.

VoxFuzz  said about 2 years ago:

Ubu,

Can you please bring this footage to Sydney with you.

Thanking you in advance.

VF.

richieramone  said about 2 years ago:

You lucky bastard Ubu. I'm in the 2003 UCP footage, dancing like a maniac on the side of stage to the band I rate in my top 3 bands of all time.

And sorry, the Soundtrack footage is from the 2001 Hulstfred festival, not 2002.

Sorry iamthewalrus, can't help you there.

SOMEONE TELL LOCKINGPARMA!!!

Ubu  said about 2 years ago:

No I can't Voxy. I used to have it on an old video tape back in Sweden. Don't know what happened to it. My mum prolly recorder Inspector Morse over it or something. Look out for a longhaired dude in a brown suede jacket near the front.

I agree with you richie. UCP were an amazing band, especially live round that period. Ebbot was so skinny then as well.

thenewmeatloaf  said about 2 years ago:

can I just rub it in by mentioning that I saw TSOOL twice in the US last year?

Who needs video footage......

richieramone  said about 2 years ago:

I know there's a few people coming down tonight for this but I'm not sure that LP is one of them. I don't have his number either.

Ubu, I would probably actually say that Union Carbide are my favourite band of all time, only some people might question why then am I Richie Ramone and not Richie Union Carbide or somesuch.

There is no other band that I could happily listen to every day and never tire of them.

And yeah, Ebbot is very skinny in this footage. But I'll be looking for the "long haired dubu in a brown suede jacket"...

As in: *sooks*

Inactivist  said about 2 years ago:

LP sends his apologies. He'd love to come. But no.

richieramone  said about 2 years ago:

Haha Newmeatloaf ! But can I rub extra salt into that wound by saying I saw them 3 times in the US last year, twice in the US in 2003 and once in Gothenburg 2003. And the first time I saw them was in London 2001, with The Euroboys !!

I consider myself quite fortunate to have been able to see these guys live 7 times.

thegirlwhocrieddave  said about 2 years ago:

if it weren't for a special anniversary of mine (ours?) tonight, i'd be there richie. i didn't see you down there yesterday though! i can't beleive i made it and you didn't!

davethescot  said about 2 years ago:

now you are just showing off richie!!

richieramone  said about 2 years ago:

You mean for the WWWAWW gig? I was at the Tote from 2 until 7:30 but I was working on some shit upstairs and dealing with a film crew in Cobra. Couldn't drink though... But a bloody great night it was on Saturday night! (sorry I know there's a thread here somewhere...)

richieramone  said about 2 years ago:

Maybe Dave, maybe...

Ubu  said about 2 years ago:

I guess there were a few advantages in growing up in Sweden. Witnessing UCP and TSOOL in tiny clubs in the shithole of a town that I'm from are worth mentioning....not much else is though.

blake3030  said about 2 years ago:

UCP?

Unsane Clown Posse?

anonymous  said about 2 years ago:

err, union carbide productions, as mentioned in the first post.

Haha Littlerach!

So I guess you'll be the one we'll constantly hear yelling "Sister Surround" on the soundtrack (no pun intended) of the Tote footage?!

And can you tell me - is there 2 video clips for Sister Surround?? I take it the one you watched was in the school gymnasium, but I seem to recall seeing another clip for that song...

littlearch  said about 2 years ago:

ha, probably, i reallyreally love that song - i'm really looking forward to the gigs

that was the first time i'd seen any clips, hence why i gorged myself and watched all of them

no more of that now, i'm back home, no more broadband

richieramone  said about 2 years ago:

I thought you weren't able to view pictures...

And yes Rach, I'm also really looking forward to these shows!! Actually, this will take the number of times I've seen TSOOL into double-figures - and I'm just as excited now as I was the first time!

Great fucking band.

littlearch  said about 2 years ago:

i might buy my corner tickets tonight, i think i'll drag sister with me seeing everyone else will be at meredith

sister  said about 2 years ago:

richieramone  said about 2 years ago:

littlearch  said about 2 years ago:
