I couldn't believe my eyes when search results page after search results page showed no match for 'microphones', 'eerie' or 'elvrum'.
Yes, my life is retarded.
How could there be no thread yet for this wonderfully talented, low key mofo? I'm listening to '2 mountains' over and over these days. It's magic. And more and more I'm realising how incredible Phil Elvrum's records are - the layers of hiss, the sloppily tracked parts that interlock beautifully... dreamy!
Weird. I just started listening to all the Microphones on my mp3 player just now. He's one of those people who make sloppy, out of tune, out of time sound good.
shoulda spelt it 'blake-style'
hey socks

UGH! Foiled by lame-arse typing/spelling/knowing!
I'm sure that there was a Phil Elvrum thread. Didn't Blake start one?
damnit
^--- DASFFS disclaimer.
I'm glad I got in first

I was almost going to just retire my login then and there, but I have other plans for that.

i have a lot of time for mt eerie - the only think better than the packaging for the 12'' of no flashlight is the music. sweet, sweet shit.
mt eerie is awesome.
I love Phil.
The Glow Pt 2 was one of the most gobsmacking musical awakenings of my life. In fact, I must hear it now!
(If you are a person who sets up amazing all-ages shows in your town and you’d like to help with a Mount Eerie concert (especially in West Texas, Madison, Duluth, Africa, New Hampshire, Maine, New England colleges, any colleges, Connecticut, Greenland, Alabama, Mississippi, DC, Miami, Atlanta, Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Flagstaff, pretty much anywhere, Tucson, southern Utah) please email pw(at)pwelverumandsun.com. Please don’t send me a million emails telling me where I should play unless you can make it happen. Thank you!)
fuckin' do it, someone.
i'd email and help set something up, but there's no way i could pay for flights and all that stuff.

the new couple. dawn and lost wisdom. everything else is great as well. stuff you should check out: the glow pt. 2, no flashlight, don't wake me up, it was hot we stayed in the water, seven new songs
cool. d/loadin seven new songs now.
Highly recommend The Glow Pt 2 as the number 1 thing to own by Phil.
Also, no one seems to like the Mount Eerie album as much as me. The one actually titled Mount Eerie, rather than by Mount Eerie.
wonder how the US tour he was talking about is going?
i have some unpopular opinions about him too blake. i think no flashlight is pretty much on par with the glow pt 2
nonsense! mount eerie was my favourite record of that year
i like that album a lot too.
do you... really think there's... anybody out there...?
Indie indies!
I like the new Mount Eerie album (we're talking about Lost Wisdom right?)
blake means the album called mount eerie, by the microphones, from a few years ago.
That's the first Mount Eerie/Microphones I heard - great album that one.
I have the hand-stitched LP version Lovely artwork but the records all scratched to shit.
Phil's wife is going to be touring end of next month: Woelv
how much does that first australia tour EP (seven songs?) go for these days?
ps. looking forward to the woelv tour.
Love love love love love Lost Wisdom.
I don't know about now, but it did once go for a hell of a lot. Maybe $200. Good time to sell it with the aussie dollar so low.
Wasn't someone selling that Seven Songs on here a little while back? A quick glance at my eBay watched items tells me one went for U.S. $60 a coupla weeks back.
thanks guys, i might throw it on ebay in the coming weeks. i was thinking of selling that so I could buy the recent Glow Pt 2 vinyl reissue.
