The Brag question

danielz  said about 4 years ago  or at  12:45PM on Wednesday, August 1 2007 in chat

What day does it come out every week, and does anyone know what issue number the next issue will be?

andyr  said about 4 years ago:

Monday in Sydney, Wednesday in Newcastle.

222.

danielz  said about 4 years ago:

excellent, thank you.

goldfoot  said about 4 years ago:

Digital  said about 4 years ago:

i can pick it up on sunday morn outside the gaelic

anonymous  said about 2 years ago:

300!

The 2 page celebratory spread in this weeks issue pretty much sums it up, i reckon.

filterfeed  said about 2 years ago:

kickcat  said about 2 years ago:

if i was really cool i could say i shagged bon jovi.. but i would be lieing... doh!

timewaster  said about 2 years ago:

Just go and shag Jon Stevens. He's the next best thing down under.

I'm sure he'll have you.

anonymous  said about 2 years ago:

i guess no one reads it either, maybe thats why.

shaun  said about 2 years ago:

the live reviews are always shit in Brag anyway. It's always the most obvious high-profile acts covered by an invariably frothing-at-the-mouth writer.

anonymous  said about 2 years ago:

least its interacting with the city it claims to be part of.

the magazine could've been written in broome.

They've been particularly awful recently! Someone told me on the weekend, they recently reviewed the Mess Hall, and mentioned how they must have been inspired by DZ!!! And for anyone who's been lucky enough to see Jono Boulet... HUSKER DU??????!!!!????

Seriously, this is bordering on the point where the editor should be arrested.

samiek  said about 2 years ago:

No reviews this week.

anonymous  said about 2 years ago:

shhh....

tinyman  said about 2 years ago:

i'm not picking up brag anymore. not because of problems with the content, but the ink/paper stock they use. is it just me or does it leave anyone else with extra mucky hands? i'm trying to eat lunch when i read. i don't need my hands all sooty. even the outside glossy page does it!

Kit  said about 2 years ago:

*Seriously, this is bordering on the point where the editor should be arrested. *

Racist slurs in gig reviews are AOK, sez editor this week (misspelling and childish phrasing also fine):
**
''There certainly were a fair few shirtless ADFA guys, muzzas and an overabundance of fluouro and matchy matchy groups...''** - from Foreshore Festival review.

tinyman  said about 2 years ago:

what's adfa? matchy matchy? i don't follow.

Kit  said about 2 years ago:

ADFA would be army trainees, the gig was in Canberra. I'm bemused on ''matchy matchy'' too.

mushymouth  said about 2 years ago:

Happens to me too, but with the Drum as well. Perhaps I have extra absorbant hands or something.

mushymouth  said about 2 years ago:

Absorbent.

mathieson  said about 2 years ago:

So is ''muzzas'' a derogatory term for Muslims?

andyr  said about 1 year ago:

brag needs an editor

here's the seek listing

(kirsty brown has taken another job)

scallywag  said about 1 year ago:

I thought the Brag was meant to be ''Sydney's Hottest Street Press'' - but the listing in seek say they're ''Sydney's Coolest Street Press''.

They really should work out who they want to be, otherwise they might have trouble attracting quality applicants.

redlips  said about 1 year ago:

where's Kirsty off to? somewhere exciting?

andyr  said about 1 year ago:

they are both hot and cool, scallywag

lips i believe she is off to work in mainstream media! radio, i think?

montyclift  said about 1 year ago:

well, i've been looking for proper job...

but maybe not.

anonymous  said about 1 year ago:

you said 'proper'

montyclift  said about 1 year ago:

oh, im so glad someone else did that gag. thanks nons.

temporarybenbutler  said about 1 year ago:

Perhaps they're looking for someone in the middle. Someone lukewarm.

I miss their 'Single of the Weak' reviews. They used to be a real laugh.
